Nike OTC Meeting 2024 Part 1

Most of my readers probably know by now, that the annual OTC meeting in Tokyo is always a highlight in my
sneaker year and I try everything possible not to miss it.

Making it happen turned out to be a real challenge this year, but after hustling through I finally made
it to Japan again.
Words can't describe how happy I was to visit and see all my otaku friends, but my smile says it all.
Without further ado I of course want to share my pleasures with you, so feast your eyes on part 1
of this year's gathering which had the theme: Nike The Sting and all shoes with similar uppers from
that time, as well as the Nike Air Jordan 1.

A special thank you to Smits, Yusuke and Toshiya-Towa for all their hard work making this event happen!
I am so grateful for the whole OTC Crew, the insane amounts of presents I received as well as all their shared
love and passion!
The only regret I take away from every meeting is not being able to spend more time with every individual.
Learing more Japanese is becoming increasingly urgent.

Part 2 is coming very soon! All pictures after the jump

Approved by the King

When I created my F&F Conductor I had a list of people in mind who inspired me to get to this
point and to whom I wanted to pay tribute to and gift this special pair.

From close family members to international culture creators this list had a big influence on my
process and the final outcome.

Forever linked with Trefoil and sneaker history Jam Master Jay and @rundmc were an inspiration
since day one of my collaborations.
@kingdmc is one of the very few people, whom I had also seeded my Rivalry Hi SNEAKERQUEEN back in 2013.

So when @shakejmj blessed me with this picture of Darryl holding up my F&F Conductor and
our Collective Rivalry Lo it totally made my day!

Thank you for decades of inspiration and maximum #worldwidesneakerlove !

adidas x SneakerQueen F&F Conductor Seeding Event

Last week I celebrated my 42nd birthday by gifting my closest ones a pair of my Adidas x SneakerQueen F&F Conductor.

And when I say family&friends I really mean my core circle.

Because luckily all of my family members are also my closest confidants.

So of course my mum, my dad, my sister and their partners all came by to celebrate with me and my sneaker family.

Beinghunted was so kind to give me their gallery space for an afternoon, I baked some cake and bread, handed out my sneakers to a very exclusive little round and set up a small photo studio for taking some cheesy yearbook like shots to remember the day.

It was the best feeling putting a big smile on my loved ones‘ faces by giving my shoes to people who really appreciate them!

Many even came with my first adidas collaboration on their feet!

Thank you for everyone who showed up and filled this day with love, laughter, good food and great company!

It was the very best birthday I had in ages and everyone made me feel  so special with their flowers, gifts and endless support.

More details of my adidas F&F Conductor

One of my favourite ideas for my F&F Conductor is the orange heel flex zone.

As a reference to the high-tech performance sports shoe the model debuted as, I assigned this little piece the texture and colour of a basketball.
Still can’t believe nobody ever thought of doing that, but I really love it.

Another detail is the two slogans I put on the inside of the tongue:
‚Don’t believe the hype‘ the famous public enemy song starts with „caught you lookin’ for the same thing
It’s a new thing, check out this I bring’
and is not only a great poetic introduction to my pair, but the slogan has been part of my communication for a long time when it come to talking about my passion for sneakers. Because I don’t see sneakers as an investment and I certainly have little interest in shoes because of their common hype.

Vintage VS retro represents my way of looking at today’s sneaker industry, the mass productions, the created hype and at all the remakes aka retros of sneakers. It is a hashtag I use on my social media to show how seldomly these releases live up to the originals and the sentimental value, the digging and networking for knowledge that I associated with collecting vintage in contrast to sneaker trend consumption.
