Nerdism

A few month ago a Hello Kitty pen I got as a sweet present from Jack,
just set me back to age 6 within seconds! It smells of pink strawberry
and I don´t mean that aromatheraphy type-o smell, I mean the real
sweet,
pungent, oldschool, cotton candy, carcinogenic 80´s colours kind!

I guess it´s natural that odours, shapes and colours from my youth trigger
a special sense of sentimental value. It would be rediciulus to deny that
they influence many nuances of my taste, concerning just about anything.
Therefore it´s no surprise to me, that I consider sneakers from 86-92
most intresting...
but I don´t just love sneakers.
I admire any form of good design
, whether it is for cars, fashion, furniture,
jewelry or just some funky kind of knick-knack!
Especially if it´s from Germany of course.
Therefore I would like to share another passion of mine!
Find the common denominator...

1.May

I love good food and I love spending time with my family!
Being able to combine both is the ultimate!
Instead of throwing stones at the cops on the 1st of May,

I went for a lovely dinner, with my cousin Benno from

Regensburg, my Grandma, Mum, Sister and her friend Anna.

The "Café am Neuen See" is a great beergarden in the

afternoon or a recommendation for pizza in the evening.

Hall Day

My weekend ist usually reserved for halls of fame.

I love seeting the output of the city´s graffiti artists every weekend.
Especially during the summer, one can visit the halls to see new pieces there
even 3-4 times a week. It makes me very sad though to visit Berlins best known
hall of fame nowadays.
This year Berlin is celebrating the 20th anniversary of the fallen Berlin Wall,
and the city decided to once again committ an asthetic crime!
Over decades the side facing former West-Berlin has been a constant canvas
for graffiti artist. Now it is being "restored"...

Since the East Side Gallery looks like this now,

here´s a chance to get a glimse at what historical meaning the Berlin Wall
has for my generation and why these white walls are so outrageous...
