More details of my adidas F&F Conductor

One of my favourite ideas for my F&F Conductor is the orange heel flex zone.

As a reference to the high-tech performance sports shoe the model debuted as, I assigned this little piece the texture and colour of a basketball.
Still can’t believe nobody ever thought of doing that, but I really love it.

Another detail is the two slogans I put on the inside of the tongue:
‚Don’t believe the hype‘ the famous public enemy song starts with „caught you lookin’ for the same thing
It’s a new thing, check out this I bring’
and is not only a great poetic introduction to my pair, but the slogan has been part of my communication for a long time when it come to talking about my passion for sneakers. Because I don’t see sneakers as an investment and I certainly have little interest in shoes because of their common hype.

Vintage VS retro represents my way of looking at today’s sneaker industry, the mass productions, the created hype and at all the remakes aka retros of sneakers. It is a hashtag I use on my social media to show how seldomly these releases live up to the originals and the sentimental value, the digging and networking for knowledge that I associated with collecting vintage in contrast to sneaker trend consumption.

Today is revelation Day!

Today I can finally share what I have been working on for the past 2 years.

I tell you it wasn’t easy to keep my mouth shut.
Here‘s my dad in the adidas x SneakerQueen Conductor I created for my (sneaker) family and friends.

Only around 30pairs were produced and will be handed out to the people who are dearest to me and share my love for classic basketball silhouettes.
These are a symbol of gratitude for the community around me that I cherish so much and the people who where a big influence on my style and on becoming who I am today.

Since this is a family and fiends production I wanted to first present this special pair to you on the feet of my father.
I adore him and am so grateful to have him despite or maybe because he is the most conservative, stoic person I know and I am so fascinated by his energy.
When I asked him to get infront of my camera for a ‚fit pic’ (he really doesn’t like being photographed) he instantly said yes.
I love how he’s rocking these in his own style and am so lucky to have a father who puts up with all my shenanigans. I never stop learning from him and us.

This Conductor is made of premium leather combined with debossed suede (the same that was used in the adidas consortium Tabula Rasa pack) and Italian premium faux snakeskin (or armadillo scales, like my homies like to call it ;)

Obviously this execution is mostly inspired by the og white and grey Conductor, but also by the way females have been uplifting street style to a premium level for decades.
Just like I did it with my Rivalry Hi 10 years ago, I wanted to create a luxury version of an original icon with this pair.
I also wanted to include some ‘female attributes’, so the shoes are lined with a quilted grey satin inspired by a classic Chanel handbag.

Referring to the high tech performance this model symbolised when it was first released, I made the heel flex zone (that little accordion like cushion on the back of the shoes) in the color and texture of a basketball.

I am excited to hear what you all think about my work and can’t wait to gift this special collaboration to my family and friends on October 2nd @beinghunted

My Autumn Muse in Cherry Maples

met up with my oldest friend Nicole to shoot some pictures.
We have known each other for almost 40 years and she is the closest to being family as is gets.
As she is in her final trimester with her twins it was very special to me, that she agreed to
sit infront of my camera with Kish Kash's and my shoe on. I love you
Nicole and can't wait to be the aunty of your two boys!!

Kangaroos x Kish Kash x Sneakerqueen Ultimate *Cherry Maple*

After months of brooding, many discussions, night time calls and countless emails, Kish Kash
and I are very happy to finally present to you our latest Kangaroos collaboration.
A lot of effort and time went into creating these and I hope you'll love the incredible
material on these as much as I do.
The biggest props of course have to go to my friend and collaboration partner Kish Kash for
his patience with my nerdy, sometimes masochistic perfectionism. Thank you for your constant
positivity whenever I felt like there is no solution.

Coming from similar inspirations, but quite different approaches to sneaker archiving we
have employed this unison to display our shared love for nature and high quality materials.
We where inspired by walks on damp forest floors, padded with carpets of moss and fall foliage.
By the sun rippling kaleidoscopic harmonies through the forest canopy, perfuming the air with
wild cherries and pine.
By the last colourful hurrah of the maple leaves before they return to the earth from whence
they came.
By the misty mornings and golden hours.
By the reminder that nature is still the greatest colour coordinator and that the continuous
seasons may re-connect us to it and it to us.

We hope that you love the rich quality of the materials and the meticulous craftsmanship,
as much as we do and that you will take them on many hikes - whether it is in the forest or
the urban jungle.

Working with the team Kangaroos over the past year to represent unity during an era of division
has been a great privilege, so a big thank you to Adrian, Carla and Kai for their help,
input and support!!!

Last but not least; lots of respect to the previous collaborators in the series - @bisso97120
set the bar so high with your respective contributions.

The Kangaroos x Kish Kash x Sneakerqueen Ultimate *Cherry Maple* forms the final part of
the 'ROOS United' series and will release in a limited run of 400 pairs this Saturday,
the 23rd of October 2021 at the following retailers:

Ellesse Design Counsel F&F Tanker

In Spring 2019, I was privileged to join 7 other creative individuals at
the ellesseDesignCounsel, placing my own spin on the ellesse Tanker.
The iconic model was created by Marc Sadler in 1982 for the tennis
court, but paved the way for the urban market and so many footwear
classics that are making lifestyle/streetwear/sportswear what it is
today, with it's extravagant design.

In the 80s and 90s tennis in Berlin was kinda the sport for the
privileged. Especially in the area I grew up in, the former city center
of Berlin, Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf, aka the 'Golden West'.
A district known for it's glamorous shopping mile, the Kurfürstendamm
and it's preppy and posh style.
I played tennis at the Tennis-Club 1899 e.V. Blau-Weiss and heard my
team mates talk about the greats like Vilas, Borg, Ashe, MacEnroe,
but specifically the German sensations Becker and Graf.
Never before had a player won Wimbledon at such a young age (in the
ellesse Tanker btw) and never before I had experienced a young woman
represent Germany (and team adidas) on an international level without
her looks, but merely with her skillset.
To me these two where the german influencers of the time and it was
no surprise that ellesse was also part of the style that surrounded me
when it came to sportswear that was more upscale. Because the
colourful shoes and apparel where perfect for teenagers and the kids at
the tennis club usually came from households with the necessary cash
to support that style.
So by representing Germany on this Design Counsel team I decided to
show my personal connection and associations to this model. My aim
was to create a deluxe version of the iconic original, so I chose a high
quality leather for the upper and combined it with some subtle snakeskin
that's supposed reflect the posh style of the tennis clubs in my youth.
The colour scheme is a little bit brighter than the OGs, like you would
find it on a beach ball, for some extra summer vibes, because tennis is
the best played outdoors. Let me know your thoughts on the final
outcome.
These are limited to 10 family&friends pairs worldwide, so I might
do a raffle soon for a lucky person to get their hands on one of these
special boxes.
