Nike Air Jordan II white red unreleased Prototype

Jordan Brand has some beautiful archive pictures online and I love these unreleased

Jordan II prototypes from 1987, that give a bit more insight into the development

process.

What an interesting mix of elements.
I see parts from the Nike Air Ship, Delta Force, Logo embedding like on the windward 

AC or some Cross Trainers, a Jordan 1 bottom Sole (?) plastic eyelets like on the AFII 

or Solo Flight and a very Court Wimbledon AC like midsole…

That collar perforation also resembles an aesthetic used on future Flights. 

Unbanned: The Legend of Air Jordan 1

Last weekend I had the pleasure of watching 'Unbanned: The Legend 
of AJ1', which explores the dynamic journey of the Air Jordan 1 from its 
unlikely beginnings to its role in disrupting long-established rules of the 
NBA, changing the game of basketball, birthing sneaker culture and 
influencing a social and cultural revolution.

This documentary is definitely worth a peek, featuring people like 
Michael Jordan, Peter Moore, Phil Knight, Tinker Hatfield, Spike Lee, 
Quincy Jones, Chuck D and many more..

but sportswear forever.

20 years of Space Jam

For the 20th anniversary of the movie Space Jam, the Berlin Braves 
organised an exhbition of vintage merchandising and sneakers affiliated 
with the film at the Kickz Store Berlin Torstraße. 
I contributed some sneaker from my collection to add to Joey's 
impressive line-up of merch, rare gems and special editions. 
At the opening on the 9th the original movie was playing downstairs
accompanied by pop-corn, sandwiches and donuts. 
A great evening with a nice exhibition, video games and drinks ended 
with tree lucky winners taking a Space Jam package of the Jordan XI 
home.

Female Sneaker Fiend

From January 19, 2016 – March 15, 2016, visitors to The Evelyn Burrow 
Museum on the campus of Wallace State Community College are able to 
see the most complete collection of sneakers on exhibit in the Eastern 
United States.
Robin Cummings debued the Charlotte Cummings Memorial Sneaker 
Collection, and according to Cummings, this is “a dream come true.”
Cummings’ collection includes 536 pairs of sneakers, 430 of which are on 
display at the exhibit.
“We have 12 complete sets of original Air Jordan shoes. We have complete 
collections of all colorways of the 7’s, 10’s, 11’s (except 1), 15’s (except 1) 
and 29’s. Our collection includes selected Kobe, KD and Lebron releases. 
We also have memorabilia displays of Michael Jordan, Charles Barkley, Bo 
Jackson, The Birmingham Barons and Andre Agassi. 
The memorabilia includes game worn and signed shoes and game issued 
jersey (signed) and pants by Michael Jordan as well as a game worn jersey 
by Barkley. The exhibit will also include close to 50 original framed Nike 
posters and much more,” Cummings said.
Charlotte Cummings, Robin’s late wife, ran the family sporting goods store. 
In the mid-eighties when Nike first released the original Air Jordan, 
Charlotte began setting aside pairs for safe-keeping. “Just wait,” she said, 
“Michael Jordan is something special.”

Today it's a collection that will have Sneakerheads, sports fanatics, pop-
culture history buffs, and everyone in between with their jaws on the floor are 
on display.
Robin Cummings began adding to the collection nearly two years ago, and at 
the age of 69 has garnered widespread attention on Instagram where sneaker-
culture has taken on a life of its own. This is a story that has so many layers, 
and is rooted in the vision of a great woman. It is truly a time capsule into the 
time in sports history just at the beginning of sporting-goods being a part of 
American culture.
A reception and grand opening for the exhibit was held on Jan. 24.
