Sneakerboom Pt. II
Here's part II of my time in Indonesia.
Interviews, Sonra Raffles and more
interviews. I am glad to see the sneaker community growing and developing
in the eastern hemisphere. Especially since most of the sneakers we
consume today are produced here.
There are so many new things to explore and learn about the production
and market in Indonesia. I am specifically interested in sample-collectors,
as this seems to be the most risky, but also exciting type of collecting
around there...

ARTCADE opening recap
Here are some pictures of the opening of the 'ARTCADE' at the Wilmersdorfer
Arcaden last Thursday.
Until the end of the year 7 temporarily free spaces within the arcade have been
transformed by different creatives to give the visitors a whole new experience,
through pop-up stores and art spaces.

In a gallery-space with attached artist studios, the visitors can view art, visit
openings and watch artists live at work. The tape-art collective 'Tape That'
display their work and the graffiti artists RAWS, SKENAR73 and STEREOHEAT
created a visual overkill on floors, walls and ceilings.

The Lunatix Dance Production utilizes space for a dancing school that offers
workshops. Through the collaboration between Ria Wank, Roger Bernd, Hendrik
Nater and the House of Tales, an area is transformed into a glacier world, with
two escape game rooms.
Last but not least, a member of the GHS-Crew pays homage to his original sneaker
shop 'Mad Flavor' that used to be close to the Wilmersdorfer Arcades with a pop-up
sneaker shop and a vintage sneaker exhibition where BAS2, Tony Toupet and yours
truly display some sneaker history from our archives.

True Originals Book
In October 2013, Marlon Knispel from Berlin contacted Ernie Beckmannand asked him if
he wanted to contribute to his planned adidas book "True Originals".
The book should be a homage to the good times of adidas, in which the best adidas
models (his opinion) from 1970 to 1993 would be presented. Since Marlon is of the
opinion that he himself is not able to write texts, he asked Ernie if he could put his
interviews and research results in a textual form and translate it to English.
He was interested and we went to work. The result is a book that will be released next
September.
In order to be able to pay the printing, Marlon needed about € 3000, which we wanted to
collect on kickstarter.
The goal has already been reached, but feel free to contribute.

They are happy about any kind of support.... financially or by sharing the kickstarter page
on your social media feeds...
